Monday 14th August: Metropolitan school and non-regional competition school entries for final judging

Monday 18th September: Awards Ceremony Scitech – Student entry 4:30pm, Afternoon tea 4:30 to 5:00pm, Presentations 5:00pm to 6:30pm

STAWA BHP Billiton Science & Engineering Teacher Awards

The BHP Billiton Science Teacher Awards recognise teachers who engage students in the study of open-ended investigations and work consistently within their school community and wider professional arenas to make an outstanding contribution to science education in Australia.

Each Science Teachers’ Association is invited to nominate one teacher, chosen for their excellence in teaching, their support of open-ended student investigations and their suitability to represent their state or territory.

STAWA is now inviting applications from primary or secondary teachers who are STAWA Members and would like to be STAWA’s BHP Billiton Science Teacher Awards this years nominee.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must complete all three sections of the STAWA BHPBSEA teacher nominee form.

The completed form and supporting documentation must arrive at STAWA by 5.00 pm on Friday 18th August.

The STAWA Teacher nominee will be presented with their award at the Science Talent Search Presentation Ceremony on Wednesday 17 September 2014.

The Science Teachers’ Association of Western Australia (STAWA), invites primary and secondary students to participate in the 59th Science Talent Search (STS) competition. The Science Talent Search aims to promote science teaching and learning through creative project work.

Click on this link to Register your school for the 59th Science Talent Search. School registration is open from 13 March to 30 June.Only registered schools will be able to enter students projects into  the Science Talent Search competition.

2. Science Communication

3. Engineering

Entries in the Research Investigation and Engineering sections may be eligible for selection into the BHP Billiton Science and Engineering Awards.

The Governor’s School STEM Awards 2017

The Primary and Secondary Schools awards will acknowledge school leadership and excellence in science and mathematics as part of STEM education. Primary and Secondary schools will be informed of the 2017 details including how to nominate, selection criteria and timeline.
